Detroit police were dispatched for a wellness check on a blind 3-year-old boy in June 2022 and made a horrifying discovery inside a basement freezer. The child’s mother, Azuradee France, admitted she concealed her son Chayse Allen’s body for months, claiming fear that Child Protective Services would take her other children. A medical examiner later ruled Chayse’s death a homicide caused by blunt force trauma. France ultimately pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 35 to 60 years in prison.
