On a late afternoon in Oak Harbor, Washington, officers responded to a head-on collision on East Crescent Harbor Road. A Ford F-250 had crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a Toyota Highlander. The driver of the Highlander, 20-year-old Anna Noelle Albert, was trapped inside the vehicle. First responders worked to free her. She was rushed to the hospital but did not survive. She was the breadwinner of her family. The driver of the truck was gone. Four hours later, officers tracked the truck back to the registered owner — the suspect's girlfriend.
