* (Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Reno, Nevada — On July 28, 2025, at approximately 7:25 a.m., the Reno Police Department along with multiple partnering agencies responded to the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, located at 2500 East Second Street in Reno on the report of an active shooter. Reno Police officers arrived on scene within two and a half minutes and immediately located the suspect in the northwest parking lot of the property. When officers arrived on scene, the suspect immediately fired at the officers, striking a patrol vehicle. Officers returned fire, striking the suspect numerous times, stopping the threat. The suspect was then taken into custody, given first aid, and transported to the hospital. During the engagement, the suspect was armed with a 9mm Glock handgun and shot at officers, striking a patrol vehicle four times. Two bullets struck the top portion of the windshield, one in the right front passenger side tire, causing it to deflate. The other bullet struck the front right portion of the bumper. The hole in the center of the patrol car's windshield was from an officer returning fire. At the same time the suspect was being taken into custody, additional officers from the Reno Police Department, personnel from the Grand Sierra Resort provided immediate medical attention to several victims. The Reno Fire Department (RFD) and the Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority (REMSA) quickly arrived on scene providing additional medical aid and transported victims to a local hospital.
