Two teens are arrested after a 66-year-old father is found unresponsive at a Dallas gas station during a Facebook Marketplace meetup over an iPhone. The deadly confrontation started after the victim drove to the gas station to meet a buyer he had been communicating with online. What happened next would change multiple families forever. In this video, we break down the body camera footage and interrogation tapes from both suspects and investigate what led to this fatal encounter at a Valero station off I-35 and South Marsalis Avenue. Amaya Medrano, 19, arranged to meet Ahmad Alkhalaf through Facebook Marketplace on November 8, 2024. Her co-defendant, Annika Aleman, 19, set up the deal but sent Medrano to carry it out. Days later, the stolen iPhone was relisted for sale on the same Facebook account. Investigators matched Medrano's distinct face and neck tattoos to her social media profiles and U.S. Marshals took her into custody. Medrano was sentenced to 55 years in prison.
