Fostoria, Ohio police responded to a frantic 911 call from 25-year-old Joseph Bonito, who claimed his four-month-old son, Carson Bonito, was unresponsive after a nap. Joseph’s account begins to fall apart as detectives confront him with medical evidence suggesting repeated abuse. Bonito eventually admits to grabbing and shaking the infant, leading to his arrest on murder and child endangerment charges. Court records show Joseph Bonito later pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and two counts of felonious assault, receiving a sentence of 25 to 31.5 years in prison.
