The caller stated that his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, a male in his 20s, was at the residence and banged on their front door. When the caller opened the door, the man attempted to enter the residence while pulling something from his waistband. The caller stated he pushed the man back out the door, closed and locked it. The caller then reviewed video doorbell footage and saw what he believed to be a gun in the man's hand. Deputies responded to the residence, but the man with the gun had left the area. Deputies received information about where the suspect may be in Lake Forest. The deputies responded to the area and located the vehicle the suspect was believed to be in. The deputies activated their lights and the suspect fled. After a brief pursuit of less than a mile, the suspect stopped his vehicle and exited towards the deputies patrol units. The suspect was holding a gun when he got out of the car. He advanced towards the first patrol unit driver's side door. The deputy opened their door and fired their gun at the suspect. The second patrol unit, a two-person training team, both fired their guns at the suspect. The suspect was struck multiple times. He was provided with medical care and transported to the hospital. He remains in the hospital and is expected to survive. A large knife and a handgun were recovered at the scene. Once cleared from the hospital, the suspect will be booked into the Orange County Jail for multiple felonies. 🚨𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑙 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑣𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑠 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑥𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑑𝑜𝑐𝑢𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛…
