* (Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Fort Worth, Texas — On Sunday, July 26, 2026, at approximately 6:15 a.m., Fort Worth Police West Division officers were called to a priority one domestic disturbance at the Carmen Apartments located at 9200 Renee Circle, details of which resembled a home invasion. The caller provided details that her ex-boyfriend, identified as 21-year-old Andrew Ponce, broke through the front door of her apartment and armed himself with a knife. Multiple neighbors called 9-1-1 reporting the disturbance with the same details. The dispatcher also provided a radio broadcast update from FWPD Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) that the suspect has a previous history of assault against a peace officer. Before police arrival, Ponce was in a violent and volatile confrontation with his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend, placing them in fear for their lives and causing major property damage. Ponce chased both victims through the apartment and parking lot with multiple knives. Both victims received injuries during the incident. When the first officer arrived on scene, he observed Ponce in the parking lot with one knife in his right hand and two additional knives in his left hand. The officer gave multiple verbal orders to drop the knife while attempting to gain distance from Ponce by moving backward. Ponce refused to obey commands and continued advancing toward the officer with knives in both hands. Ponce continued closing the distance between himself and the officer. The officer then fired his gun multiple times, striking the suspect. Ponce fell to the ground and dropped two knives out of his left hand and the one he held with his right hand.
